Mechanical Water Engineer
 

As a mechanical engineer, your main duties and responsibilities will be to provide a technical input to the mechanical design of water and wastewater schemes located both in NZ and overseas. This will include working in multi-disciplinary teams of civil, mechanical, process and electrical engineers.

Typically your work will involve

Preparation of, or supervision of preparation of drawings.
Production of documentation, including reports, calculations, specifications, control philosophies, tender documentation including particular specifications, schedules of prices and engineer's estimates.
Attendance of factory and site acceptance tests.
Provide technical advice and guidance.
Provide input to bids and project manage appropriate projects.

You will be a mechanical engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the water, wastewater or related process industries you will have:

BE Mechanical with significant relevant water / wastewater experience
Computer aided design including FEA analysis of mechanical equipment
Hydraulic structures (e.g. irrigation barrages, gates, stop logs and screens etc.)
Rotating machinery (particularly pumps) and associated equipment
Treatment plant / Pumping Station detail design
Have excellent technical knowledge of your field and be able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts mechanical engineering issues
Be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of pumping systems and treatment plant appropriate to your experience
Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into the existing plant engineering team, and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines
Have good communication skills, be computer literate and hold a valid NZ driving licence
Be able to interact positively with senior and junior staff alike, as well as within the client environment
Be progressive and imaginative in your work and strive to add value where possible for the benefit of the company and clients
Demonstrate continuing maintenance of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions

Senior Building Services Engineer


Due to continuing success of our clients operations we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer with at least 7 years experience to play a lead technical and management role in a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects both locally and internationally.
