Our Client is a New Zealand owned specialist environmental and engineering consultancy providing innovative solutions and technical prowess in many areas including water resource planning and development. Their capabilities in this area include: hydrology and water resource investigations; catchment management and simulation; coastal processes; dam projects - hydro-electric power, irrigation and water supply; and stormwater and drainage design.
We are now seeking an experienced Hydrologist to join their team in Auckland. As part of the Water Resources team you will play a key role by providing expertise for the analysis and design of off- and on-river dams, hydro-electric power and stormwater projects both in New Zealand and offshore. You should have an engineering qualification or relevant science degree, and 5 years plus of post-graduation experience predominantly in hydrology and hydraulics. Experience in water resource development projects in the New Zealand context is essential.
You will be skilled in using TIDEDA or Hilltop software. Experience with other hydrological software such as HYDSTRA and HEC-HMS, and in hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS and MIKE URBAN / MOUSE (or similar) will be advantageous. You will be competent in hydrological analysis and catchment runoff modelling for design of hydraulic structures. Skills in GIS, AutoCAD, and 12D modelling, and experience with stormwater treatment design will also be beneficial. You will be a keen learner, and most importantly, a team player with a "can do" attitude who enjoys a challenge.
